It is a continuing tradition to take time to pause for a while and look at the fruitful year gone by achieving various milestones and then preparing ourselves again to move forward in our journey towards excellence.
It is with great pleasure that I present to you the annual report for Smt. Sushma Swaraj Government PG college for Girls, Ballabgarh for the academic year 2023-24. This report encapsulates our collective achievements, challenges, and aspirations as a community committed to academic excellence and holistic development. The report also allows us a chance to introspect as to how to strengthen ourselves further in various areas.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE:
The new college building was inaugurated on 2nd March 2023. The total area of the college campus is 6 acres and the total covered area is 1 lakh sq. ft. The new college building boosts of a fully air conditioned multipurpose hall, admin room , library , 3 lecture theatre and girls common room. There are 16 rooms for various cells & departments, 21 class rooms, 8 labs, 1 fully functional canteen, 1 gymnasium ground and parking space and RO- Water cooler . Washrooms are available on each floor. There is sufficient furniture available in college campus to facilitate the Girls students for their proper studies. College campus is equipped with CCTV for maintaining adequate security in the college Campus. and to ensure the safety of the students, their belongings , faculty and the college property . To make the college campus eco friendly number of steps have been taken in recent past. Umpteen number of plants are planted in college campus. Rain water harvesting system is functional in college campus so that under water level can be recharged frequently.Two Green rooms have been constructed in multi purpose hall to facilitate the girl students during cultural activities.

The application forms of 138 students under Consolidated Stipend Scheme and Free Books Scheme for SC Students have been verified.

ACADEMICS:
There has been introduction of 9 new courses in the college in addition to already existing 3 courses namely BA pass course, BCom Voc. and BSc IT taking the tally to 12 which is a remarkable achievement for any new college.
The results of the college have been promising especially for subjects having regular subject teachers. Two of our BCom Voc. students also secured 4th and 7th University rank in Dec. examinations 2023.
Continuous efforts are being made to get teaching staff for the newly opened courses to further improve the studies of students.

Mentor Mentee Report Session 2023-24
The objectives of the mentorship classes are to improve the teaching learning process and maximise communication between students and teachers. The teachers being more experienced and knowledgeable, work as mentors of the students. Every teacher has around 60 students in Mentor group and there is a class for mentorship every Wednesday. The focus of mentor class is to discuss the family, health, personal and career related issues of the students. As a result, teacher-student bonding is significantly improved.
There were various cases such as exam stress, depression, eve-teasing and family related issues which were reported by the students and the same were resolved by the mentors. The mentorship classes are proving a great help to the students as the teachers are interacting with the students more closely and encouraging them to discuss their issues.
The mentorship classes also target to the specific needs of slow learners and advanced learners and special classes are arranged if needed. Additionally, the students are trained in such a way so as to manage their day-to-day problems and become a responsible citizen.
The mentors inform the students about various career opportunities in their fields and their career related queries are discussed in the mentorship classes. Many students come up with their doubts and the same are resolved.

IQAC:
IQAC plays a key role in promoting a culture of quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
Induction for new students was organized on August 14
Lecture on Police ki Pathshala was organized om Aug 14. Chief guest of the event was DSP Rajesh Chechi.
Anaemia Checkup camp was organized on September 26th in collaboration with YRC and NSS.
NSS:
National Service Scheme, Popularly known as NSS is an extension of activities to the higher education system to orient the student youth to community service while they are studying in education institutions. College has one NSS unit of 100 volunteers. Our Volunteers of NSS unit is self motivated to serve the community and gaining skills and knowledge to solve the community and individual problems

Tree plantation by Education minister – Tree Plantation was held on 30th July 2023, in collaboration in Bhartiya Vikas Parishad and Rotary Club. In this Honorable Education Minister Sh. Mool Chand Sharma Ji, Planted 151 Plants in college campus.
One Day Camp - NSS One day camp was organized on 18th August, 2023 for cleanliness and beautification of campus.
Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign:- Panch Praan Sapath Taken and kalash Yatra was organized under Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign on 18th August, 2023.
Postermaking on International Literacy Day:- On 8th September, 2023, A poster making competition was organized under NSS and Women Cell.
Enrollment of New Volunteers:- Enrollment of NSS Volunteers were done on 15th September 2023.
Anemia Checkup camp and Lectures by Specialist Doctors- An Anemia checkup camp for girls students was organized in college on 26th September, 2023. On this occasion specialist doctors delivered lectures on various topics like, CPR, Malnutrition and Female Health.
Shram Daan and One Day Camp:- One Day camp on Shram Daan was organized under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on 1st October, 2023 at Bhagwan Parshuram Park, Sector-2, Ballabgarh
Cyclothon rally:- 50 NSS Volunteers participated in cyclothon rally for Nashamukt Bharat with Haryana Women Right Commission on 12th October, 2023
Registration of Volunteers on My Bharat Portal:- Registration of NSS Volunteers was done on my Bharat portal on 12th December, 2023.
Sweater Distribution to Needy Girsl Students:- Sweaters Distribution is done to 100 Needy Students under NSS and YRC with collaboration of Bharat Vikas Parishad on 13th Jan, 2024.
Health Checkup Camp:- Two days health checkup camp was organized in college with collaboration of Manav Rachna Groups of Institutions on 1st and 2nd Feb 2024.
Voters awareness Campaign:- Voters awareness Campaign was organized in college by NSS Volunteers on 23rd Feb 2024.
NSS Seven Days Camp:- NSS Seven Days camp was organized from 15th March 2024 to 21st March, 2024 at Maharana Pratap Bhawan, ballabgarh with 50 Volunteers.

An Extension Lecture was organised under Placement cell on “Simplifying Stock Markets for millennials & Career in Financial Markets” by Dr.Neeti Panwar, Assistant Professor in Commerce, GC Kheri Gujran on 6th Feb 2023.
20 students attended job Fair on 9th Feb held at GCG Sector-14 Gurugram. No student got offer Letter.
4 days workshop was held from 4-7th March,24 in collaboration with Magic Bus India Foundation. The training was based on Soft Skills and “Connect with Work” theme.
RED CROSS SOCIETY
Throughout the academic year 2023-24, the Red Cross Society at our college actively engaged in various initiatives aimed at promoting health and well-being among students. Here's a detailed overview of the activities:
1. Enrolment of Fifty Students: At the onset of the academic year 2023-24, the Red Cross Society welcomed and registered fifty enthusiastic students who showed dedication towards humanitarian work and community service.
2. Anaemia Checkup Camp and Specialist Doctors' Lectures: On September 26, 2023, a significant event was organized in the form of an Anaemia Checkup Camp for female students. This camp not only facilitated the screening and diagnosis of anaemia but also served as a platform for knowledge dissemination. Specialist doctors were invited to deliver enlightening lectures on crucial topics such as Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Malnutrition, and Female Health. These lectures aimed to empower students with essential health-related information and foster a culture of proactive health management.

3. Sweater Distribution to Needy Female Students: In collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), Youth Red Cross (YRC), and Bharat Vikas Parishad, a heartwarming initiative took place on January 13, 2024. Sweaters were distributed to one hundred fifty deserving female students, ensuring they stay warm and comfortable during the winter season. This act of kindness not only provided physical warmth but also symbolized solidarity and support within the college community.
4. In Collaboration with Manav Rachna Groups of Institutions: A comprehensive two-day health checkup camp was organized on February 1st and 2nd, 2024. This initiative, conducted in partnership with Manav Rachna Groups of Institutions, aimed to promote preventive healthcare practices including dental checkup, Counselling, Legal Awareness, Issues related to Road Safety and identify any underlying health concerns among students.
5. National Deworming Day: On February 15, 2024, in observance of National Deworming Day, the Red Cross Society facilitated the distribution of Albendazole tablets to more than four hundred students. This preventive measure aimed to combat parasitic infections and contribute to the overall well-being of the student population.
6. CPR Training in Collaboration with Road Safety Club: On March 7, 2024, in collaboration with the Road Safety Club of the college, a CPR training session was conducted for students. The training, facilitated by experts from GD Goenka Academy Faridabad, aimed to equip students with life-saving skills and knowledge in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), emphasizing the importance of prompt action in emergency situations.
7. On March 14, 2024, marked as a specialized health checkup camp in collaboration with BK Hospital, screenings for HB1aC and Haemoglobin levels were conducted, enabling early detection of potential health issues. Moreover, over five hundred iron pills were distributed to students, emphasizing the importance of nutritional support in maintaining optimal health. These endeavours undertaken by the Red Cross Society exemplify our commitment to promoting health awareness, fostering community engagement, and extending support to those in need within our college and beyond.
WOMEN CELL:
Visited Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru College for “Teej Mela” organised under women cell on 17th August along with college students.
Organised Extension Lecture on “Nutrition and Personal Grooming” on 24th August 2023 by Mr. Vikrant from VLCC Institute.
• Mr. Vikrant talks about the importance of healthy and balanced diet in todays’ environment and around 150 students have attended the event

ROAD SAFETY CLUB
1. Collaborating with the Faridabad Traffic Police, the Road Safety College orchestrated a thought-provoking quiz on road safety at the college level, held on October 13, 2023.The event garnered significant participation, with over 650 students actively engaging in the quiz, showcasing their knowledge and understanding of road safety principles and regulations. Notably, the quiz served as a platform to identify top performers, with three outstanding students qualifying to represent the college at the district-level quiz competition, which took place on October 27, 2023.
2. On February 1, 2024, the Road Safety College, in collaboration with esteemed institutions such as Manav Rachna University Faridabad and Omni Foundation Ballabgarh, organized a series of expert lectures. These lectures delved deep into the intricate nuances of road safety rules and acts, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of legal frameworks governing road usage. Additionally, the lectures focused on deciphering the significance of various traffic signals and signs, emphasizing their role in ensuring smooth and safe traffic flow on roads.
3. March 7, 2024, marked a pivotal moment as the Road Safety Club and Youth Red Cross (YRC) of the college joined forces to conduct a transformative one-day training workshop. This workshop, conducted in collaboration with GD Goenka Academy Faridabad, addressed critical aspects of emergency response, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques and protocols. Furthermore, participants received invaluable training on effectively managing head injuries, a common consequence of road accidents.
SPORTS CLUB
In the Inter-College University Camp organized at MDU Rohtak, our college's Sports Club facilitated the participation of our students, including Devanshi and Gunjan from the B.A. third-year cohort, in the boxing category. They displayed commendable skill and determination, securing bronze medals in their respective weight categories on December 20, 2023. Additionally, Ms. Sunita Goswami, a first-year M.Sc. Computer Science student, showcased exceptional talent in the fencing event at the same Inter-College University Games. Her outstanding performance led her to secure a bronze medal on December 27, 2023. Ms. Goswami's success continued as she qualified for the North Zone University Games held at GND University Amritsar from January 10 to 12, 2024, and subsequently in the All-India University Games from January 13 to 15, 2024. Demonstrating consistent excellence, she secured notable positions in both events. Her crowning achievement came at the Khelo India University Games held at Gauhati from 25th Feb to 28th Feb 2024, where Ms. Goswami achieved the remarkable feat of securing a gold medal in the team event, adding to her impressive accolades.
Moreover, the college is committed to providing ample sports facilities for our students. This year, the college has initiated the construction of one badminton court, one tennis court, one basketball court, and a 200-meter athletic track. Additionally, the college has procured multiple sports and gym fitness equipment to ensure our students have access to state-of-the-art facilities for their physical well-being and sporting endeavours. These endeavours signify our dedication to nurturing a holistic educational experience that fosters both academic excellence and physical fitness among our students.
Eco Club
The Eco club in the college is established to spread awareness about environmental pollution and to reduce anti-environment activities in the college campus. It is committed to prepare and organize students’ participation for preservation and conservation of environment. Various activities and events are organised under the club to maintain the greenery in the college and keep the college clean.
The Eco Club organised “Mega Tree Plantation” in the college on 31/07/2023 in collaboration with Bharat Vikas Parisad, Faridabad to create green belt in the college. Around 500 plants were planted to make the college building green and beautiful.
YOGA CLUB
1. Yoga classes are conducted on every Saturday for the health benefits of the students. Around 50 students participate in this programme.
2. "Yog Aayog Har Ghar Parivar Surya Namaskar" was organised on 20/02/2024 under the yoga Club of college. This session is taken by Ms. Aruna Choudhary ,Yoga instructor
ANTI-TOBACCO CELL
1- Anti-Tobacco Committee in the college made the girl students aware about the harm caused by Tobacco
2- Awareness Rally-Through a rally of girl students, the college made the people of sector -2, Ballabgarh and Trikha Colony Ballabgarh aware about the harm caused by Tobacco

The need of today age is to not just focus on academics but to develop versatility and creativity in the students by encouraging them to actively participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The Cultural Cell of the college strives to bring out hidden talent of the students in as many ways as possible. In 2023-24 many of our students participated in various cultural events including Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Quiz and Literary events at Intercollege, Zonal, InterZonal and National level and won laurles for the college.
The cultural activities kickstarted with the celebration of Independence day on 15th Aug. 2023. Students performed patriotic songs, poems , Speeches and dances.
Techers’ day celebrated on 5th September 2023. The students showcased their talent in singing, dancing , making short video etc.

Talent search was organized on 29 september 2023 to provide a platform to students to exhibit their talent.
Zonal Youth Festival: Our students participated in various events like quiz, literary, finearts and theatre at zonal youth festival held on 26 to 28th October 2023 at Govt. College, Kheri Gujran. Results wer quite encouraging. Our college won ist postion in Mime, 2nd in one act Play, 2nd in Photography, 2nd in Mehndi,2nd in Cartooning, 3rd in Poster, collage and On the Spot painting.

College Cultural Fest- AAGAAZ
The college cultural fest was organized for the very first time in college on 7 and 8th Feb 2024. This fest was a grand celebration of music, dance and drama. The fest featured a plethora of events like dance competions (Solo and Group), Music competitions, theatre (play, mime,etc.) and various literary events. It enabled the students not only to explore their creative and aesthetic side of personality but also helped develop a feeling of camaraderie among them.

National Level College Fest:

College got 1st position in Rangoli and On the Spot Painting and 3rd position in Solo dance and Mehndi competition .
COUNSELLING CELL
The counselling cell of the college serves as a cornerstone of student support services, offering a range of resources to promote psychological well being.
The cell helps students in solving their personal, educational and psychological problems and helps them enhance their self esteem .
In an attempt to make the students aware about their social responsibilities and how values are integral to eduation a lecture, “Shiksha ke baad Samajik Jeevan” was organized on 16th September 2024.

Activities under Commerce Department (2023-24):
An Extension Lecture was organised under the department on “Learning Management Principles through team building games/ exercises” & “ Skill based Teaching Pedagogy for students” by Dr. Dimple, Assistant Professor in commerce, Aggarwal College Ballabgarh, on 5th October2023.
Department of Computer Science Report (2023-2024)
The Department of Computer Science has started two new courses M.Sc. (Computer Science) and BCA w.e.f the session 2023-24. The department of Computer Science now has M.Sc (Computer Science), BCA and B.Sc. (IT as a subject) courses. The faculty of the department of Computer Science also teaches B.Com (Vocational–Computer Applications), BBA and M.Com. courses. There is one Computer Lab and one Computer-cum-Language Lab in the college. The computer-cum-language lab has Digital Teaching Device with interactive board and LCD projector and networking of computers is done. There is total 30 computers in both the labs. The Computer Labs are well maintained to run practical classes. The students conduct their computer practical under the observation of faculty of the department of Computer Science.
In the session 2023-2024, the following activities/events were accomplished by the Deptt. of Computer Science:
Khushi and Shruti, BCA 1st year participated in Inter District Science Exhibition at GCW, Faridabad on January 29 and 30, 2024 for the Model “Virtual Assistant - ADA”. Khushi was awarded as ‘Best Explainer ‘.
Industrial visit to “KodVidya Academy of Computer Technology” on 13.02.2024 for BCA, B.Sc.(IT), B.com, and M.Sc. Computer Science Students.
Khushi and Shruti, BCA 1st Year received 3rd prize in project and Himanshi Sharma, BCA 1st year received 3rd prize in “Technobuzz 2024” organized by Department of Computer Science, K L Mehta Dayanand College, Faridabad on February 23, 2024.
Shruti, BCA 1st Year, won third prize in “Videography” and Anjali, BCA 1st Year, won first prize in “Digital Poster” in “Womanifest” organized at DAV C.C, Faridabad on 06.03.2024.
Nikita and Sonali, M.Sc. (Computer Science) 1st Year are selected for Internship after college hours in “Screaming Whisper” Company.

Conducted expert lectures on the topic,”Awareness on Mental Health” and “Mental Health Issues in Adolescent Girls” by Mrs. Anita Khungar Retd. Principal and prof. of psychology on 10 October 2023 as part of World Mental Health Day Ce;ebrations.

Deptt. of Chemistry:
Students of Bsc. 1st yearparticipated in intercollege competition organized by Department of Science, K.L. Mehata college for Women, Faridabad on 22nd Feb.2024 and won third position in Science Quiz and second position in Scientific Rangoli.
Department of HomeScience:
Students of B A. 1st and 2nd year participated in intercollege competition organized by Department of HomeScience , K.L. Mehata college for Women, Faridabad on 22nd Feb.2024 and got !st position in Poster making and consolation prize in Statewise Indian Cusines contest.
Department of Mathematics:

College Faridabad, celebrating International Day of Mathematics state level competition on 13 March 2024

Department of Hindi
1. Different kind of activities like Nara competition, poetry competition and essay writing competition were held in college on 14th September to celebrate Hindi Divas.
2 . Power grid department and department of Hindi organised quiz and essay writing competition in college campus on the topic of corruption free India on 20 October 2023.
3. Vishva Hindi Divas was celebrate in college campus on 10th January many activities like slogan competition and speech competition were organised in college for this event.
4. Department of Hindi organised" Kavi sammelan " in college on 15 February 2024 with the help of Haryana Kala Parishad.
5. On dated 16 August 2023 program "police ki pathshala" was organised with the help of Amar ujala foundation about cyber crime.
6 Extension lecture was organised on 3/11 2013 on the topic of "Hindi sahitya ka itihaas "by Shri Parveen Kumar associate professor in Hindi GGSD College Palwal.
